Simple circular curve: T = R tan(Δ/2) · L = πRΔ/180 · C = 2R sin(Δ/2) · E = R(sec(Δ/2) − 1) · M = R(1 − cos(Δ/2)). Deflection to a peg = arc ÷ 2R (radians). Lengths in metres.

Indicative result, not a survey. Only a plan prepared and signed by a registered surveyor is valid for title, legal or design purposes.

Calculated in your browser. Nothing you enter is stored or sent.

How it works

Uses the arc definition of a simple circular curve. The setting-out table gives the deflection angle from the tangent at TC to each peg, for a theodolite or total station set up at TC.

Transition (spiral) curves and super-elevation are not included.
